The Lengau Lodge

Restaurant building

Building Zebra

Lengau Lodge started in December 2013.
After some major alterations and renovations we hosted our first guests in Februari 2015.
We have the ambition to provide a true Safari feeling with maximum attention for our guests. That is the reason we have decided to offer only a limited number of beds. We provide facilities for 6 guests. We have three Rondavels (chalets) that each accommodate 2.

The Lodge has currently three accommodations for visitors, a restaurant, a beautiful pool with shaded pool area and a building with a large viewing deck, from which one can look over the bush. For details on the accommodations please visit our separate page by clicking:

Our accommodations

Restaurant and viewing deck

In the restaurant building we can provide you with tasteful breakfast and diner. Since the weather conditions are almost always excellent we can serve the meals outside as well as inside.

from the pooldeck a magnificent view into the bush

Pool area

On the roof of the building we have created a very large viewing deck with a thatched roof on top of it. From this place you will have an enormous view over the bush and onto the waterhole. Without disturbing the animals, you will have a close look on them, because the animals usually come very close to the lodge.

The area around the lodge is equipped with a small electrified fence-cable to keep the elephants from coming to close to the buildings and to prevent them from drinking from the swimming pool. All other animals can roam freely throughout the entire plot and the rest of the reserve, all the way into the Great Kruger National Park. Therefore the lodge is not the best place for small children and we advice to bring only children form the age starting with 12 years.

Swimming pool and Lapa

The lodge has a magnificent swimming pool with a beautiful Lapa (relax area with seats and tables) shaded by a thatched roof, to relax and cool down from the sometimes hot African sun. You can enjoy your drinks, have a meal or just enjoy the view.

Connection to internet and gsm

You can of course make use of our internet connection via our free Wifi. The connection is not capable to download large files or stream movies, but for normal use it is absolutely sufficient and e-mail or all other social media can be used. It depends on the network provider how your cell-phone connection will function, but we do have coverage most of the time for your mobile phone.

Grietjie and Kruger, gamedrive

The Grietjie Private Nature Reserve is a 3000 ha. large reserve and is part of the great Balule reserve without any fences in between all participating reserves. game driveGrietjie Reserve has about 100 plots, from which a couple have been equipped with lodging facilities. As visitor it is not allowed to drive around for game spotting. We will offer you the possibility to come with us on a gamedrive on a daily basis. We can drive in the reserve and enjoy the daily surprise of all kind of possible animals like, impala, giraffes, buffalo, warthogs, zebra, kudu, waterbock, elephants, hypo’s, lions and many more. Not to forget of course the birds of all kind, colors and sizes!

Only 30 minutes drive from our reserve we have the Phalaborwa Gate, leading into The Kruger National Park. The distance allows for a day trip to this world class nature reserve, with a guarantee to encounter wild animals. We can organise a day trip for you or you can drive on your own.

Traveling South Africa, Botswana and Namibie

Our lodge can also be used for a stop over for two or more days and then move on to the next stop on your journey through the southern part of Africa. The owners of the lodge have traveled since 2008 through many parts of South Africa, but also visited Namibie and Botswana on there safari drives through the region. Please visit our page on this website to see images of these trips to become inspired. If you need any assistant in planning your own safari trip to any direction in any or even all three of these three mentioned countries, please feel free to ask us. We would love to help you with advice, or even prepare and book the complete safari for you.
